Good Luck Ben!

As most of you know, Colin was training last spring for the New Orleans Half Marathon with his friend and brother in law, Ben Hales. Though very difficult without Colin, Ben decided to continue to train and participate in the race scheduled for this weekend. Please keep Ben in your thoughts and prayers as he completes this emotionally and physically challenging endeavor. We know Colin will be proud!

Update on the Colin Goodier Memorial Scholarship

Our family would like to extend our sincere appreciation for your generous contributions to the Colin Goodier Memorial Scholarship Fund at LSU Medical School. We have been humbled by the generosity and kindness of our friends, family, and even strangers who have been touched by Colin's story and life. With each contribution, we grow closer to our goal of providing a full scholarship to a deserving medical student who shares Colin's passion for medicine and being of service to others. It is our hope that students will not only receive financial assistance with their medical education, but also that Colin will live on in the hearts and minds of those students who never have had the opportunity to know him personally. Thank you for your support and please know that the exponential growth of this fund has brought great comfort to our family in this difficult time.

Second Colin Goodier Annual Golf Tournament Scheduled for September 25, 2009

Please make plans to participate in the second Annual Colin Goodier Golf Tournament benefiting the Colin Goodier Memorial Scholarship Fund at LSU Medical School. Last year's tournament was a tremendous success and it was a lovely way to celebrate Colin's life on his birthday. We continue that tradition this year on Friday, September 25th in New Orleans. As our plans become finalized, we will post more details here. We hope to see you there!

Please Lend your Support to Louisiana 3 Feet: The Colin Goodier Bicycle Protection Act

A bill will be introduced to our legislators this spring by Representative Michael Jackson to protect cyclists in Louisiana. If passed, this will be Louisiana’s first law to protect the rights of cyclists. Not only will the law’s text outline cyclists’ equal right to our roads but it deems motorists must give 3 feet of space when passing cyclists and it prohibits harassment of cyclists. The law will serve as a catalyst for education, signage, public service announcements, etc… making the general public aware of the rights of cyclists, saving lives around our state.
How can you help? Here are 3 simple steps:
1) Go to http://www.louisiana3feet.com/.
2) Click the first red link to thank Representative Michael Jackson (larep061@legis.state.la.us) for introducing the Colin Goodier Bicycle Protection Act.
3) Click the next red link to find out your Louisiana House and Louisiana Senate seat’s e-mail addresses by going to their personal pages. Write them a note asking them to vote FOR the Colin Goodier Bicycle Protection Act in the upcoming legislative session. http://www.legis.state.la.us/district/zipcode.asp
4) If you are on Facebook, you can join this cause by searching LA 3 Feet under causes.

Check the LA 3 Feet website frequently to find out the latest news. Updates will be posted on the Home Page or on the Forum. Check out the state’s legislative website to see the status of the bill.

Congratulations to the Grezaffi Family

We'd like to send a most loving welcome to Colin Grant Grezaffi, the new baby son of Adam and Emily Grezaffi,  two of Colin's very closest friends. He was a little early, but mom and baby are both doing well. We hope that baby Colin embraces this world with the kindness, joy, and enthusiasm that Big Colin modeled so well for all of us. Congratulations to you all!
